Understanding Import Processes

The BCC now has ten nationally accredited core courses. Together, these form an export curriculum that provides invaluable basic skills for small and large companies alike. Candidates must demonstrate knowledge of the subject and their performance will be marked by external examiners on the completion of each module. Successful candidates will receive a certificate; completing six or more courses will result in the candidate achieving a nationally recognised Foundation Award in Exporting. These courses are suitable for both experienced exporters and those with no previous knowledge of exporting.

Learning Outcomes

The learner will:

1. Have an understanding of the advantages of claiming IPR or OPR
   1. Be able to describe the 5 classes of Temporary Consignments
   2. Know what is inward and outward processing relief
   3. Know what are the advantages and disadvantages of a distributor
2. Have an understanding of the custom regimes and the tariff
   1. Know what the commodity codes are and where to find them
   2. Know what procedure codes are and where to find them
   3. Know what custom duties are and how do I work out the rate
   4. Know what preference is and how it can save you money
3. Have an understanding of the documentation required to claim IPR and OPR
   • Know what is the SAD (C88) and be able to list 4 details which must be shown on the SAD
   • Know what the responsibilities of authorisation holders are

Individual half day courses cost £125 + VAT (members) / £140 + VAT (non members)
Courses are priced individually. A discount can be offered when booking 6 or more modules or booking 3 or more delegates on the same course.

This is a half day course. Light refreshments will be provided. Free parking is available at our premises.
