The Bank of England and Brexit - Three months on

The Mid Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce is inviting local businesses to hear from expert speakers about issues facing the business community following the UK’s historic decision to leave the European Union.

The Bank of England (BOE) and its policy decisions are of paramount importance to the entire process of Government. At this local business forum, Will Holman, the Bank of England’s Deputy Agent for Yorkshire & Humber will set out the BOE’s forecasts for growth and inflation as well as the economic issues arising from departing the EU. Suren Thiru, Head of Economics and Business Finance at the British Chamber of Commerce (BCC) will advise on the latest BCC economic forecasts and Brexit projections, and explain how the BCC Research and Policy Team are closely monitoring the progress being made by all branches of Government as the ‘leave’ process unfolds.

The meeting will be chaired by Chamber Director, Gareth Hunt, and following introductions and presentations from Will and Suren the meeting will be opened up for a Q&A Session which will aim to give all present the opportunity to ask questions and engage in constructive discussion.

A light breakfast of coffee and croissants will be served at 8am and the meeting will start at 8.30am and finish at 10am.

Places are limited. All businesses are welcome to attend, Chamber members can attend free-of-charge and non-members will be charged £20 +VAT.

We recognise that on occasions delegates will book onto an event and subsequently find that they are unable to attend. In these situations we ask that delegates notify us of their need to cancel as soon as possible at least 48 hours notice is required.

Unfortunately we will have to charge the full fee of £20 +VAT if notice is not given. This will also apply to members who book a 'FREE' place and do not attend.
