The Apprenticeship Levy

When? Friday 9th December 2016 08:00 - 10:00

Where? The Old Golf House Hotel, New Hey Road, Huddersfield, HD3 3YP

“The Apprenticeship Levy – what it means for all businesses, and in particular the potential benefits for smaller SMEs”

Brian Stahelin, Chamber President and Managing Director Stafflex will chair this forum and introduce our special panel guests, David Broadhead, Managing Director, Partners in Management Ltd and Catherine Lunn, Apprenticeship Manager, West Yorkshire Combined Authority/Leeds City Region Enterprise Partnership.

David and Catherine will each provide the meeting with updates on the Apprenticeship Levy, which will become effective from April 2017. They will discuss the obligations which will fall upon bigger Companies (major employers) to pay the Levy, and acquaint the meeting with the opportunities available for smaller SMEs (who are effectively exempt from payment) to use the Levy to fund the skills development of all employees through Apprenticeships.

The Chairman will then open the meeting to a Question and Answer Session which will enable all present to participate in a wider debate and have their questions answered.

A light breakfast of coffee and pastries will be served at 8am. The meeting will start at 8.30am and finish at 10am.

Free parking is available on site.
