Scrum: Intercultural Effectiveness in the Workplace
Huddersfield Giants and Huddersfield Business School would like to invite you to this networking 'lunch and learn' online event where our speakers will share their knowledge and expertise on how Intercultural Effectiveness has helped productivity and performance within their workplaces and teams through better employee engagement and participation.
Cultural difference may be a factor in both sport and business providing challenges to overcome. It is impossible, of course, to learn everything about the culture of every person we meet, nor would it really help. This session will provide opportunity for exploration and discussion of the key dimensions, attitudes, responses, strategies, skills and knowledge required in developing our cultural and intercultural selves.
Steve Hardisty, Club Welfare, Safeguarding & Education Manager at Huddersfield Giants, will provide insight into the importance of Intercultural Effectiveness when considering player welfare and future career planning, including how the team embraces welcoming players from different parts of the world each year.
Balancing Big C and Small c for Business Giants - Sara-Jane Postill and Jo Thomas from the University of Huddersfield International Learning Team will share key concepts, observations and strategies for more positive outcomes.
