Guide to Delivering Pandemic Bereavement Care

Published 17th Dec 2020 by Emma Sinfield

Full Circle Funerals has produced a free to access shared learning guide for those who provide support services to people who are bereaved during the coronavirus pandemic.

It follows conversations with more than 60 Yorkshire celebrants, florists, hospices, care homes, bereavement counsellors, legal advisors and funeral directors to find out how they are adapting and meeting the challenge.

With fewer social interaction possible because of Covid-19 restrictions, people who suffer a bereavement at the moment feel particularly isolated because they are managing without their usual support networks. In addition, many funeral choices have been compromised and as a result, many of those who are involved in providing services following a death have significantly adapted their services and are helping in ways they wouldn’t have done otherwise to offer extra (sometimes non-funeral related) support.

The shared learning guide can be downloaded on the Full Circle Funerals website here.

There is also a section on their website with up to date local COVID funeral restrictions and a closed Facebook peer support group to enable local funeral professionals to share their experiences, knowledge and useful information.
