When? Thursday 3rd December 2020 10:00 - 10:30

Where? Online Event

About this Event

1. What are the factors dictating the appetite of lenders to support SMEs in respect of existing and new lending during the pandemic and once the UK emerges from the pandemic?

2. Does this differ between banks and peer to peer lenders?

3. How will the enforcement of repayment of existing borrowing and decisions regarding future lending be affected by the re-introduction on 1 December 2020 of Crown preference in favour of HMRC in formal insolvencies.

4. If lenders are likely as a result to have more recourse to personal guarantees from directors to secure repayment of existing and future lending, what provisions or alternative plans should directors make to meet this and how will this impact on their overall financial planning?

5. Are HMRC likely to take a less aggressive or more aggressive stance with regard to the collection of current and historically outstanding taxes with the knowledge that Crown Preference ( which applies to all outstanding tax and is not time limited ) will likely allow HMRC to take the bulk of available assets in the event of an insolvency?
