Home Instead Calderdale & Spen Valley has launched a new live-in care service. Clients from across Calderdale, Huddersfield and Bradford now have the option to have a CAREGiver with them at all times, overseeing their wellbeing day and night, in their home, the place they feel most safe and secure.

Our first live-in care client Margaret has mild dementia and a weak heart. Although a residential care home was initially considered, her family and healthcare professionals decided the strict routines and lack of privacy in a care setting would not have suited Margaret. Live-in care was proposed after this former librarian was discharged from hospital, enabling her to stay at home, safe and happy with her treasured book collection and own routine.

Munaf Patel owner, Home Instead Calderdale says:

“We have offered home care to elderly and vulnerable people in the community since 2013, so to offer live-in care was a natural progression for us.

Live-in care can be the best solution, when clients begin to need constant support and attention. Surrounded by the home they love, their pets or possessions and with a carer who they know and feel comfortable with, they can avoid the disruption and worry that a move to a care home might cause. Family can easily visit and see their elderly relatives are being well looked after at all times.”
