m2r Education help Jordanian school during COVID crisis

Published 26th Mar 2021 by Emma Sinfield

During the COVID-19 pandemic, over 1.2bn children across the globe have missed out on classroom based education. One of these schools is New English School, a leading British international school in Amman, Jordan.

Wakefield based education services company, m2r Education, are supporting the school by delivering an online project designed to enhance the English Language of their students by allowing them to practice in their own time and using technology with which they are familiar.

Known for providing international teacher recruitment services, m2r Education have, in response to the current pandemic, developed a range of online education solutions allowing them to offer new support packages to schools across the globe.

New English School approached the multi award winning company and are trialling their online English language app with their Year 10 students, with a view to expand to include other years.

The school will also be using the English language app over the summer break with some of their staff who have been identified as needing additional English Language support.

Head of Secondary, David Cooksey, commented,

“Munir and the team have bent over backwards to support the school in providing this initiative by giving an initial free trial to our English Dept so they could undertake the initial assessment and make recommendations. They have produced a personalised version of the app with our branding and a video explainer for students to support them as they get used to using the app. This app goes to the very heart of supporting our students as confidence in English usage is vital to success for non-native English speakers in their English curriculum studies. I can't think of any initiative that is potentially more important to the success of our students and, as such, I will be forever grateful to m2r for introducing this to us.”

The current DIT / Northern Powerhouse Export Champions are now planning a global roll out to offer these courses to all schools who need additional English language provision during these difficult times.
