Medical equipment manufacturer, Paxman, has become the first local business to stand side-by-side with The Kirkwood to support the charity’s much anticipated Snowdogs Support Life, Kirklees art trail, which will see large Snowdog characters appear across Kirklees next Autumn.
Inspired by the much-loved animated film, The Snowman™ and The Snowdog, the sequel to Raymond Briggs’ classic picture book and film The Snowman™, Snowdogs Support Life, Kirklees will bring the magic of The Snowdog character to life through an extraordinary public art trail.
The first company to come on board as sculpture sponsor for the trail, Paxman has a long-established history of supporting The Kirkwood and is a proud member of the charity’s Business Movement.
Glenn Paxman, founder and chairman of the scalp cooling technology company attended the initial business launch of Snowdogs Support Life, Kirklees back in October, and spoke personally to attendees about his reasons for involving Paxman in the initiative and the importance of The Kirkwood within the local community.
With The Kirkwood a cause close to his heart, Glenn comments: ‘Our business shares many of the same values as The Kirkwood, which is why we are very proud to sponsor their public art trail, Snowdogs Support Life, Kirklees in 2022.’
‘We hope that our ongoing support, along with that of many other businesses throughout the district, will help The Kirkwood continue the incredible work they do across the community. We’re sure that this free art event will have a real impact in raising awareness of the The Kirkwood and how they support people throughout Kirklees affected by a life limiting illnesses.’
Organised by The Kirkwood in partnership with Wild in Art and Snowman Enterprises Ltd, Snowdogs Support Life, Kirklees will be a free large scale art event and will show off the very best creative talent from local, regional and national artists. As part of this one of a kind public art event in West Yorkshire, businesses are being given the opportunity to sponsor one of the individually designed Snowdog sculptures. This presents businesses with a unique and exciting way to promote their business throughout the local area.
The trail will help raise awareness and essential funds for The Kirkwood as they continue their work to help and support those living with a life limiting illness in Kirklees, while encouraging visitors from far and wide to explore new parts of our region.
Snowdogs Support Life, Kirklees will launch in October 2022.
