Chamber Talent is a brand new, government-backed, initiative that helps employers to recruit and develop entry-level staff in a new way – and, as Chamber members, we’re giving you free access to the service for the first three months!

More and more Yorkshire-based businesses tell us that they are finding it hard to recruit skilled labour and are paying ever increasing wage costs as the pool of talent gets smaller each year.

Chamber Talent helps by making it easy and affordable for you to develop the next generation of local talent, so you have more skilled labour to choose from in the future.

We’re looking to work with businesses that can offer 3+ month work placements to young people or career changers keen to get into your industry, but don’t have previous experience.

We recruit and employ these people as apprentice and place them in your business to gain industry experience. They move from placement to placement to get a full picture of your industry and complete their apprenticeship – becoming ready to step into a full-time role in your industry at the end of their training.

We handle recruitment, government paperwork, HR, off-the-job training and payroll. You interview and offer work to someone looking for a start.

All you pay is the apprentice’s wages, and for three-months we won’t charge for our service. After that it’s a small weekly fee to cover our costs.
