Reopening of Wakefield depot helps Caldervale get back on the road

The Chamber marketing team met with Caldervale Technology Managing Director Gordon Lilley, to discuss the benefits of the Chamber’s international trade arm, MY Export Hub to them.

Caldervale formed in 1992 and are a design, manufacturer and supplier of a range of electro fusion control units and tools, for the merging of plastic based distribution systems for the water, gas and utility industry sectors.

Previous to the formation of Caldervale Technology Ltd, they were a small independent company, Calder Technical Services and were acquired by Glynwed International. Gordon told us that ‘with the purchase of the business from Glynwed International in 2005, the company is amongst the major electro fusion tooling manufacturers in Europe’.

He also explained that since the global collapse in 2008/09, the Directors of the company realised the need to explore markets further afield and since they have recently opened an office in Australia. Gordon went on to comment that ‘Caldervale are proud of their achievements and the need to restructure and improve the facilities at Dewsbury which will only help to increase and enhance the building of new business and secure jobs well in to the future’.

Caldervale also hope to increase their production and develop new and emerging markets and plan to do this in a more eco-friendly building. Gordon told us how he benefits from the Chamber’s MY Export Hub in various ways ‘the Chamber plays a significant role in helping us with documentation, and with advice and expertise on new markets we may pursue’ he went on to explain that ‘there is a variety of useful events and training sessions on offer and we are able to cherry pick the necessary ones significant to our needs’.

With the recent opening of the Chamber’s Wakefield offices Gordon explained ‘it makes it much more convenient for us, we can be in and out within 15 minutes for documentation’. And with the most competitive prices for documentation in the north, Gordon’s team can get back on the road with minimal time away from the office and cost to Caldervale.
